Modoc Raceway Will Re-Open In 2013

Modoc Raceway will re-open in 2013 with hopes of renewing the racing of old at the storied S.C facility. Modoc will run a limited schedule for 2013 and 2014. The crate late model portion of the program will be running under SECA sanctioning (South Eastern Crate Association).

The first race at Modoc Raceway is slated for Saturday night June 1st, with a main event paying $2,000 to the winner.

The remainder of the Modoc Raceway 2013 schedule is set for release around the middle of June.

“We have advertised this race for quite sometime now, and we are really excited about the opportunity to work with SECA, give the drivers some additional chances at more money and to allow them to gain SECA weekly points while racing here at Modoc” Promoter Lenny Hobbs

Hobbs also added “ The SECA deal came about just in time for this race, so those drivers have the opportunity to gain points, but we are sticking to what we had already advertised for this event, meaning drivers will still be eligible for SECA points, but we will run this one race based on the rules previously announced, in which everyone is in complete agreement on from SECA, the sponsors and the drivers we have spoken with.”

The new promoters of Modoc Raceway have taken the past few months to spruce the facility up with everything from reworking the entire track, a few coats of fresh paint, and some slight modifications to the original facilities.

SECA offers over $18,500 weekly points fund for drivers that are SECA members, with $7,500 going to the winner, paying back the top 20 positions.

“ When we first heard about the Re-opening of Modoc this year, we immediately became interested in the possibility of getting the SECA name down in that area. Once we it became a definite, we were easily sold on the idea. I think we have a good thing going for our drivers and our promoters, and an opportunity like this makes it really easy to get excited about the future. Our sponsors have all been huge in helping the SECA efforts so far this season, and we are extremely thankful for the love those guys have for racing at all levels” Stated Timmy Mcabee Co-Owner of SECA
