Rolling Thunder Speedway Teams With SECA For 2014

The South Eastern Crate Association (SECA) is proud to welcome Rolling Thunder Speedway to the SECA family for the 2014 racing season. Snuggled along the mountain side in Arat Va, the 3/8 mile speedway has been known for producing some of the areas best racing. This is truly one of dirt racings “hidden” gems. Rolling Thunder Speedway will be under new management with Grey Coble at the helm this season. Gray and Mitchell (son) are extremely excited about this the new opportunity. "Racing has been our life for several years and we look forward to continuing and hopefully improving the racing experience at Rolling Thunder. We are looking forward to our newly formed partnership with Seca and we are working to make everything as simple as we can for our drivers and teams. We believe the plan of universalizing the areas crate programs will help our teams and allow us to continue building strong bonds with our neighboring tracks . Everyone has been very supportive of us so far, we believe we can meet and exceed our own expectations.” stated Gray Coble

SECA drivers now have a Friday night track to go along with Friendship Speedway (Saturday nights). I know Mr. Coble from Rolling Thunder and Mr. Tesh at Friendship have already began to work together on scheduling and rules. That in our opinion is what makes local racing stronger, these guys are already sending the right message to the teams. These guys being on the same page is just the first step in building a stronger relationship with and between these facilities. I have only been to Rolling Thunder one time and I have heard nothing but good reviews about the changes that have taken place over the last two years. I look forward to getting back up there this year and seeing the great racing that I have heard about” stated Timmy Mcabee (co-owner of SECA)

Drivers choosing to sign up with SECA will collect City Chevrolet Weekly Championship points at Rolling Thunder Speedway. The 2013 SECA Weekly Championship presented by City Chevrolet paid an impressive $7500 to the winner! The top 15 races will be counted toward the final standings, and the 2014 championship. Approved tire compounds for SECA sanctioned tracks are HOOSIER HTS spec 1350 and HOOSIER HTS spec 1600.
