Carolina Speedway Set For SECA Bonus Race At 14th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial

Carolina Speedway will roar back to life this weekend and kick off its 2014 season with the 14th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial. Always a storied and memorable event, this year's rendition of “The Skyler Trull” will also include a $2000 to win SECA late model Bonus Race. The SECA Bonus Race is designed to give promoters the potential to draw in cars that often race at other speedways. The race will provide each SECA member that is in attendance with 10 additional bonus points toward the Chevrolet Performance Weekly Championship presented by City Chevrolet.

“These points will be critical once we get down to the end of the year. If you were to lose a championship by 9 points and you skipped a bonus race, it could indeed cost you a championship. Our members know the program and understand how the process works. We are extremely pleased to be tied into this special event and we expect another stellar turnout” stated SECA official Timmy Mcabee.

Known as "The Action Track", the Gastonia, NC speed plant is no stranger to big events. The Skyler Trull is just one of several marquee events planned for 2014 along with the Gaston County Shrine Race, King of The Carolinas, & Bill Hendren Memorial.

“We are planning a big year for our fans and drivers at Carolina Speedway. Our crowd is always dynamic from the drop of the green until the last checkered flag falls. Starting the year off with a 2 day show like the Skyler Trull Memorial is exactly what our drivers want and fans deserve. This year's card includes Carolina Clash, SECA late models, DirtCar UMP modifieds, and the rest of our faithful support divisions. We can't wait to reunite with our race family this weekend and I am confident this will be our best Skyler Trull Memorial ever!" Clint Elkins Promoter of Carolina Speedway
