Tires From Carolina Speedway Fail To Meet Benchmark

Following time trials at SECA sanctioned Carolina Speedway (Gastonia, NC) on Friday April 24th, tire samples were taken from competitor Matt Stover. The tire samples that were properly collected and secured from Stoverís car by Carolina Speedway officials did not meet the benchmark at the independent laboratory that was sufficiently set forth by the tire manufacturer.

As a result, Stover is immediately disqualified from the April 24th event at Carolina Speedway and all drivers initially finishing behind Stover in the feature event (6th on back) will be scored up one position from their original finishing spot. As a result of these findings and in accordance with SECA rules, Stover faces the following penalties:

1) Disqualification from the April 24th SECA event at Carolina Speedway (No points and no monies)

2) A fine of $1,000 which must be paid before competing in any SECA sanctioned event

3) Stover will only be allowed to claim 14 races towards the 2015 City Chevrolet Weekly Championship

4) 50 point deduction to end of year City Chevrolet Weekly Championship standings

We would like to personally thank everyone involved for their professionalism throughout this entire process. All results and points will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the changes in the finishing order of the April 24th event at Carolina Speedway.
